Dermatopathology is the 3rd module in the SDPA's Diplomate Fellowship. 

After completing this module, learners can expect to walk away with knowledge and understanding of: 

  • The discipline of dermatopathology
  • Microscopic anatomy of the skin
  • Selection of appropriate types of skin biopsy in a variety of clinical settings
  • The steps involved in the processing of a skin biopsy specimen
  • What information should be provided to the lab and the dermatopathologist to maximize the return on biopsy specimens
  • Meaningfully interpret a pathology report
  • The added value of using a dedicated dermatopathology lab
  • How to avoid common pitfalls related to skin biopsies

This module contains 1 section in total and will provide 1.5 hours of Category I CME. This module costs $10.50. To complete each section learners will watch a PowerPoint presentation with voiceover, take an exam, and complete an evaluation survey. Each learner will be required to pass the exam with at least 70% and will have 4 attempts to pass the exam.
