This session delves into the complex immunopathology of autoimmune blistering disorders, from the molecular targets at the dermal-epidermal junction to clinical manifestations and management. This session integrates recent advances in diagnostic tools, immunologic insights, and emerging therapies to enhance precision in diagnosis and treatment. Participants will gain a practical framework for translating benchside discoveries into improved outcomes for patients with pemphigus, pemphigoid, and related disorders.

At the conclusion of the session, participants will be able to:

  • Explain the key immunologic and structural components of the basement membrane zone involved in autoimmune blistering diseases;
  • Identify current and emerging diagnostic and therapeutic strategies for pemphigus, pemphigoid, and other bullous disorders;
  • Integrate scientific understanding of disease mechanisms into clinical decision-making to optimize patient outcomes.
