This session will explore the clinical and histopathologic hallmarks of cutaneous vasculitis, emphasizing pattern recognition and correlation with underlying systemic disease. The session will highlight a structured approach to diagnosis, including when to biopsy, how to interpret key histologic findings, and how to order appropriate laboratory workup. Attendees will learn to distinguish mimickers of vasculitis and apply evidence-based strategies to guide management.

At the conclusion of the session, participants will be able to:

  • Recognize the clinical and histopathologic features that define and differentiate types of cutaneous vasculitis;
  • Develop an algorithmic approach to evaluating suspected vasculitis, including appropriate biopsy technique and laboratory assessment;
  • Distinguish vasculitis from its mimickers and apply targeted treatment strategies based on disease severity and systemic involvement.
