The education of healthcare providers, both broadly and within dermatology, rarely covers the intersection of climate change and health to an adequate extent. It is essential that the impact of climate change on skin health is incorporated into the training of young healthcare professionals pursuing careers in dermatology. Ongoing education is necessary to ensure providers are informed regarding the effects of climate-related factors on the incidence and severity of skin disease. Further, an understanding of the climate crisis is necessary to both counsel patients and advocate for the public’s health.

Learning Objectives
1. Describe the ways in which climate change-related air pollution impacts the incidence and presentation of chronic dermatoses
2. Describe the ways in which stratospheric ozone depletion impacts the risk of developing skin cancers including melanoma and keratinocyte carcinomas
3. Describe the elements of climate change associated with geographic expansion of vector-borne and water-borne diseases
4. Describe the ways in which physician assistants in dermatology can decrease the carbon footprint of their practice settings
