Genetics play an important role in your skin, hair, eyes and almost everything else related to your body. Improving your understanding of genetics and genomics testing can enhance the quality of care you provide patients when diagnosing, treating and managing some complex diseases. This webinar will provide DermPAs with information useful in implementing precision medicine into practice, specifically related to psoriasis management. This webinar is the first in a three-part series related to genetics in dermatology.
Learning objectives
At the conclusion of this webinar participants will be able to get a better understanding of;
- Receive an introduction to precision medicine and the expansion of options becoming available
- Discuss the need for precision medicine in dermatology
- Discuss reliable biomarkers that exist
- Discuss trial and error approach that currently exists and the problems with that approach
- Apply this process in practice (patient outcomes/satisfaction rates with more targeted approaches).

Speaker Bio
Adam Harkiewicz, PA-C, is a Dermatology Physician Assistant in Las Vegas. He was raised in Michigan and studied human biology at Michigan State. After finishing his education at Michigan State, he moved to Las Vegas and attended Touro University in Henderson, Nevada. He has more than 10 years of experience in dermatology, with a focus on general and surgical dermatology and some work in cosmetic dermatology. Harkiewicz successfully manages psoriasis patients and has seen the power of precision medicine in dermatology.
