The "Last Week in Clinic" lecture by Dr. Kelli Hutchens aims to cover more commonly encountered conditions you likely saw last week in clinic.  This session focuses on building a framework for approaching inflammatory conditions based on histopathologic features.  With this framework in mind, you'll be able to build more robust differential diagnosis and implement best biopsy approach, so you'll be ready for clinic next week!

Learning Objectives:

Participants will:

  1. Build a framework for classifying inflammatory conditions commonly encountered in clinic into histopathologic categories based on depth / area of activity in the skin.
  2. Learn the histologic features of commonly encountered inflammatory conditions including lichen planus, psoriasis, eczematous dermatitis, drug eruptions, and dermal hypersensitivity reactions.
  3. Apply the framework for classification and histologic features to enhance your practice through best site selection and method of procurement for sampling.
  4. Gain confidence in when to perform additional sampling for direct immunofluorescence studies.
  5. Review alternate classification schemes to add in your differential diagnosis of inflammatory conditions.
