Join SDPA and Samantha Fridman, MSPA, PA-C on Thursday, August at 8:00pm! 

Pediatric patients are commonly seen in general dermatology clinics, yet many skin diseases present differently in children than in adults. Through real pediatric cases, this session covers some of the most common skin conditions general dermatology APPs encounter most often in children. Atopic dermatitis, acne, warts and molluscum, and tinea will be presented in a case-based approach with practical guidance on age-appropriate treatment, caregiver counseling, and recognizing the presentations that require urgent or specialty referral.

Participants will:

  1. Differentiate common pediatric dermatologic conditions from important mimickers using a case-based diagnostic approach.
  2. Develop evidence-based treatment plans for common pediatric skin diseases using age-appropriate therapies.
  3. Recognize clinical findings that warrant referral to pediatric dermatology or urgent evaluation.

This program is not yet approved for CME credit. Conference organizers plan to apply for 1 AAPA Category 1 CME credits from the AAPA Review Panel. The total number of approved credits is yet to be determined.

Physician Associate

Samantha Fridman, MSPA, PA-C, is a board-certified Physician Associate specializing in pediatric dermatology in South Florida. She is a Society of Dermatology Physician Associates (SDPA) Diplomate and was selected for the SDPA Emerging DermPA Scholars Program, recognizing early-career dermatology PAs committed to education, mentorship, and leadership.

Samantha is passionate about making pediatric dermatology approachable through practical, real-world pearls that dermatology APPs can confidently apply in clinic the very next day. She believes every child deserves to feel comfortable and confident in their own skin and has a special interest in skin of color, inflammatory skin disease, and educating clinicians to provide compassionate, evidence-based pediatric dermatologic care.

She enjoys mentoring current and future APPs, lecturing to PA students, and serves on the SDPA Distance Medical Education Committee as a subject matter expert and content reviewer.

Outside of clinic, Samantha enjoys spending time with her husband and their rescue dog, George.
