Presented by: Ronald "Junior" Nelson, MD
In the second webinar of our summer genetic series, we are diving into a discussion of the science, statistics, and practical applications of genomic testing for pigmented lesions. Learn how to screen for melanoma using a noninvasive diagnostic tool and how to integrate it into your practice. Dr. Ronald Nelson will take learners through the process from identification to diagnosis to treatment.
Learning objectives
At the conclusion of this webinar, participants will be able to:
- Understand melanocytes transfer RNA and DNA to keratinocytes in skin
- Identify melanoma associated RNA and DNA in pigmented lesions
- Understand laboratory testing metrics like sensitivity, specificity, negative predictive value, and positive predictive value
- Learn how to incorporate clinical genomic testing for suspicious pigmented lesions in daily practice
