The Skin of Color Society predicts that by 2042, over half of the U.S. population will have skin tones categorized as skin of color. For those working in dermatology, it's crucial to remain current on the evolving needs, trends, and treatments within this expanding demographic.
With this focus in mind, the SDPA arranged for Heather Woolery-Lloyd, MD, from the University of Miami's Department of Dermatology, to lead a live webinar on "Dermatologic Conditions and Unique Presentations in Skin of Color" at 7PM EASTERN Tuesday, Dec. 5, 2023. This webinar promises to include invaluable insights. Dr. Woolery-Lloyd's lecture will delve into prevalent dermatological conditions specific to skin of color, encompassing pigmentary disorders, hair and scalp issues, and scarring.
At the end of this webinar, participants will be able to:
- Understand the mechanism behind common hair and scalp disorders in skin of color patients
- Describe the clinical features of common skin of color dermatosis
- Identify the appropriate treatments for common skin of color dermatosis
- Identify common causes of hyperpigmentation and hypopigmentation in skin of color
