Dr. Tiffany Mayo, MD, FAAD, Associate Professor of Dermatology at the University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB) and Director of the Clinical Research Unit, will explore the complexities of Hidradenitis Suppurativa (HS) in this engaging session. She will address the latest trends in prevalence, diagnostic approaches, and associated comorbidities, while also providing an in-depth look at cutting-edge treatments and strategies for managing severe cases.

Learning Objectives:

At the conclusion of this webinar, participants will be able to:

  1. Identify the key clinical features and diagnostic criteria for Hidradenitis Suppurativa.
  2. Understand the prevalence and common comorbidities associated with Hidradenitis Suppurativa

Tiffany Mayo, MD

Associate Professor of Dermatology

Tiffany Taylor Mayo, M.D. is a board-certified dermatologist and Associate Professor of Dermatology at The University of Alabama at Birmingham.  

She received an undergraduate and master's degree in Chemistry at Tuskegee University.  Dr. Mayo completed her medical degree from Baylor College of Medicine, Houston, TX and an internship in Internal Medicine from McGaw Northwester Medical Center, Chicago, IL. She completed Dermatology training at The University of Alabama at Birmingham. 

Her interests include skin of color, hair and scalp disorders, hidradenitis suppurativa, and clinical trials. She leads the Ethnic Skin and Hair Clinic and is Director of the Dermatology Clinical Research Unit.  

In addition to her clinical duties, Dr. Mayo mentors students interested in medicine and dermatology, serves on several committees related to medical student education, and is actively involved in the Skin of Color Society and the community.  

When she is not working, Dr. Mayo enjoys spending time with her three children and husband.
