This 1-hour webinar will introduce attendees to the fundamentals of immunology in a relatable, relevant, and consumable manner.  Participants will walk away with an understanding of the overall organization of the immune system, its key players, and how cells and cytokines work together in host defense.

Learning Objectives:

Participants will:

  1. Understand the differentiating features of the innate vs. the adaptive immune system 
  2. Remember the 5 most relevant types of T cells to dermatology practice
  3. Differentiate the activity T helper cells and T cytotoxic cells
  4. Understand the relationship between T cells and cytokines as well as the actions of cytokines on various tissues in the body

This activity has been reviewed by the American Academy of Physician Associates Review Panel and is compliant with AAPA CME Criteria. This activity is designated for 1 AAPA Category 1 CME credits. Approval is valid from 3/25/2025 to 3/30/2026. PAs should only claim credit commensurate with the extent of their participation. AAPA reference number: CME-2013215.

Dr. Misha Rosenbach

Dr. Misha Rosenbach is a Professor of Dermatology and Rheumatology at the Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania.  He is the Vice Chair of Education & Dermatology Residency Program Director.  Dr. Rosenbach’s clinical practice and research is focused on the diagnosis and management of complex medical dermatology diseases, particularly cutaneous granulomatous diseases, neutrophilic diseases, and inpatient dermatology. Dr. Rosenbach has served as the field of dermatology’s leader on climate and sustainability, and as the physician lead on climate & sustainability efforts at the University of Pennsylvania Health System and Perelman School of Medicine.   He has published more than 300 peer reviewed articles, multiple chapters, and textbooks, including Andrew’s Diseases of the Skin.  He has leadership roles in the Medical Dermatology Society, Society of Dermatology Hospitalists, JAMA Dermatology, and the American Academy of Dermatology, including serving as a founder and chair of the Climate Change and Environmental Issues Expert Resource Group and co-chair of the Emerging Diseases Task Force.
